My try to draw Frida Kahlo from her painting "Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird"

The artist has said:
"I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration."

She wrote these lines to her husband Diego Rivera:
"...all these letters, liasons with petticoats, lady teachers of "English", gypsy models, assistants with "good intentions", plenipotentiary emissaries from distant places, only represent flirtations and that at bottom you and I love each other dearly and thus go through adventures without number, beatings on doors, imprecations, insults, international claims - yet we will always love each other."

Diego once told Frida that she had the face of a dog and she replied that he looked like a toad
